Immigration

Picture
Immigration Program
Indo-Caribbean people trace their ancestry to India and migrated to the Caribbean in the 1800s to work as contract laborers primarily in Guyana, Trinidad and Tobago and Suriname among other countries in the region. Today, Indo-Caribbean residents are among the largest and fastest growing foreign-born populations in Queens, Brooklyn, and in the Bronx.
