On Sunday May 22, 2011, we hosted the 2nd South Queens Health Fair during the annual Indian Arrival Day festival at Smokey Park.  The fair offered attendees access to blood pressure and carotid artery screenings, health & wellness counseling and refferals to low cost health insurance. We also distributed contraceptives and materials on safe sex, free of cost.  In 2010 and 2011, over 350 residents  benefitted from health screenings.  Volunteers for the event included physician assistants, pre-medical students and mentees from our Youth Development Program.
