Faudia D. Baijnauth
Deputy Director & Program Director

Faudia is a founding member of ICA where she is in charge of the organizations' operation and program implementation. Faudia previously worked as the Community Liaison for Assemblymember Rory Lancman. In this role, she coordinated the efforts of several non-profits serving primarily Indo-Caribbean & South Asian residents. Faudia graduated with a BA in Political Science, cum laude, from Baruch College, CUNY.  She was born in Corentyne, Guyana and moved to New York in 1998.

Anita R. Baksh
Director of Education Programs

Anita is currently an adjunct instructor at St. John’s University and a doctoral candidate at the University of Maryland. Receiving her BA in English and Education from St. John’s University, Anita went on to obtain her MA in English from the University of Maryland, College Park. Anita represents ICA on the Indo-Caribbean & South Asian Curriculum Committee, our Public Library initiate and other special projects.  Born in Paramaribo, Suriname, Anita spent some of her formative years in Berbice, Guyana before moving to the U.S. in 1987.

Richard S. David
Executive Director

Richard is a founding member of ICA, where he works on program development, community outreach and fundraising. Outside of ICA, Richard manages a portfolio of discretionary-funded capital projects for many of the City's leading organizations. Richard graduated with a BA in Political Science and completed the prestigious Public Service Scholar Program at Hunter College, CUNY. He is currently an MPA candidate at the Wagner School at NYU. Richard was born in Mahaicony, Guyana and moved to New York in 1995. He is the youngest of three brothers and lives with his family in Ozone Park, Queens.

Michael A. Henry
Fundraiser

Michael holds a B.A. in international business from Dickinson College, a professional certificate in fundraising from New York University, and has over 5 years of fundraising, event planning, and non-profit experience. 
Michael has specific experience in higher education fundraising including, alumni affairs, volunteer management, and planning and executing high-net worth special events. Michael serves as a Co-Chair of ICA's Inaugural Gala and in other ad-hoc volunteer capacities to enhance ICA's mission. In addition to his professional pursuits, Michael is an avid cyclist who has successfully completed two TD Bank 5 Boro Bike tours. Michael was born in Brooklyn, NY and is of Indo-Jamaican descent.

Vedesh Persaud
Program Coordinator

Vedesh helped design PRYDE, our mentoring-based youth program. He currently shares responsibility for managing the relationship between mentors and mentees, communication and program activities for the PRYDE program.  Vedesh also handles our data and data tracking system, which he also spearheaded.  Vedesh graduated from Hunter College, CUNY where he majored in Physics and minored in Mathematics.  He has solid managerial experience and has helped put together start-ups in high profile companies in the aviation industry.  Vedesh is currently registered in a civil engineering program at City College, CUNY.  He is from Clonbrook village in Guyana and lives in Nassau County, Long Island.

Michael Perumal
Budget Analyst

Michael has been with ICA since it’s founding and has worked in several roles.  In his current capacity, he is in charge of our financial reports, payments and maintaining relationships with our funders.  Michael is currently pursuing a BS in Networking Management at Devry University and works at the NYC Department of Environmental Protection.  Michael was born in New York and his family is from Berbice, Guyana.

Macy Estelle Singh
Intern

Macy was a former student in our Youth Leadership Program and is currently assisting with coordination, program facilitation and tutoring our current students.  She is an aspiring physician and is pursuing a BA in Biology at SUNY Old Westbury.  Macy was born in New York and her family is from Trinidad and Tobago.
