Shivika Rajkisore
Chairperson
Shivika has been a leader with ICA since 2011. She started as a co-creator of the mentoring program and then volunteered for multiple years as a mentor in that program. She has taken on other responsibilities including organizing events, developing programs, and doing outreach.
Shivika graduated with a degree in biology from Hunter College and received her master's in education from Pace University. She is currently a public school teacher at a transfer high school which serves students who are overage and under-credited. Shivika was born in Guyana and lives in Richmond Hill, Queens.

Richard David
Co-Founder, Secretary Richard is a co-founder of ICA and has remained involved in the organization since it was founded. He has spent over a decade in the leadership of City government, on his community board and is an adjunct professor at York College. He ran for public office, and is currently a District Leader. Richard was born in Guyana and lives in Queens. |
Arvind Sooknanan
Board Member [email protected] Arvind is a first-generation born Guyanese-American from the Bronx. His parents migrated to the United States in the 1980s, hailing from a village called Uitvlugt in the West Coast Demerara region of Guyana. Prior to joining ICA, Arvind played a vital role as Campaign Manager in electing the first South Asian woman in New York State. He is also a mental health advocate, serving as a Community Liaison and on the Board of Directors for the nationally-recognized nonprofit, Fountain House. |
Bihari Lall
Board Member Bihari is a franchise owner at Denny’s of Brooklyn and Denny’s of Jackson Heights. He is Vice President of Bedessee Imports, an importer, exporter, and manufacturer of food products, and is the owner of Gitto Farmer’s Market. His journey began as part of a father/son duo at Ramela International, a specialty food distribution company his father started. Bihari joined our Board in 2016 and sits on our Youth Programs committee. Bihari was born in Manhattan and lives in Queens. His parents are from Enmore and Leguan villages in Guyana. |
Nalini Tiwari-Greenan
Board Member Nalini Tiwari-Greenan is a marketing consultant who started her own company, Adya Communications, in 2002. She was born in Guyana and moved to New York in 1980 with her family. She is a graduate of Richmond Hill High School and Barnard College at Columbia University, and currently lives in Manhattan. Nalini is passionate about supporting organizations that advocate for equal rights for all regardless of race, religion, gender or sexual orientation and the empower women and children. She is a member on several non-profit boards (including ICA), such as Sakhi for South Asian Women, Friends of RPCV’s of Guyana, and We are GUTSY. |
Sean Sarjoo
Treasurer, Board Member Sean Sarjoo is a seasoned business professional with 16 years of experience that range from startup companies to merger and acquisitions he has assisted in closing. He has also played a significant role in growing companies through revamping of their organizational, human resource and financial management so that they can retain their corporate mission and meet their financial targets. Sean is a graduate of St. Joseph's College with a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting and Master of Business Administration. Over the years he has joined the Society for Human Resources Management, registered with Internal Revenue Service and New York State as a tax preparer and obtained a watch guard license. He is the principle of Bloomer Sarjoo, LLC, an accounting consultancy company, and Titan Secure, Inc., a security services company. Sean is the father of two boys. He was born in Guyana and lives in Suffolk County, New York. |
Diana Mathura-Kahrim
Board Member
Diana is an Indo-Trinidadian born photographer based in New York City. She earned her Master’s Degree in Digital Photography from the School of Visual Arts. For the past decade, her portfolio has primarily focused on children’s photography which allowed her the opportunity to combine her love of photography and working with kids at her company, Kids With Cameras NYC. As a staunch advocate for community-based projects, Diana has partnered with shelters throughout NYC to offer classes to underprivileged kids. She works with several elementary after school programs and high schools to conduct elective classes. Diana lives with her family in Manhattan, New York.
