ICA provides FREE year-round services to support the education and life goals of youth, from middle school to college. We provide evening and weekend Tutoring for all levels, a weekly, intensive SAT PREP program, and College Prep Workshops for both prospective students and parents.
Indo-Caribbeans are the 2nd-largest immigrant group in Queens and the 5th largest in New York City. ICA works to build our community, strengthen our voice, and make sure our issues are addressed through voter registration and education, advocacy for community resources and empowerment, and immigration services for the undocumented.
ICA ensures that the vibrant and unique culture of Indo-Caribbeans is celebrated in our community and across the city. Our events include film screenings, panel discussions, performances, book readings, networking receptions, leadership initiatives, seminars, and conferences.
Lefferts Public Library Project
ICA has partnered with the Queens Borough Public Library to introduce an Indo-Caribbean Special Collection to be housed at the Lefferts Branch. The Collection will consist of media and literature about Indo-Caribbeans in America and in the Caribbean and is intended for use by students, research scholars and the general public. The Collection is scheduled to be opened in the summer of 2011.
